“We live for Jesus and we want to live a Christ-like life, because we love Him, but that’s not the entry fee to heaven.” – Josh Havens from The Afters
You’ll never be good enough for God. No seriously, nothing you do will measure up. Let that sink in.
But we can also reverse that statement. You will never be horrid enough for God to abandon you.
No matter how deep and dark the stain of your mishaps and mistakes, no matter how evil your actions have been, God will love you, and He can use you in marvelous ways. And if you’ve been marred by the sins of others – the victim of terrible treatment – where you may have done awful things just to survive, God is ready to take on everything.
This is the Gospel. Whoever simply believes that Jesus is God, and repents – turning away from their sin – will be saved and sealed for heaven. Our God uses broken people, and He is ready to use you.
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, ‘Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.’”
