The Gifts of Christmas: Hope

As Christmas draws near, it can feel as though there’s a looming deadline on your lengthy to-do lists. It’s easy to get lost in the shuffle of a busy season. If you’ve lost sight of the reason for the season and gotten off track, God is full of mercy and grace. He sees you and knows that while this time of year is magical for many, it can also be chaotic, hectic, or even lonely. Yet, at the end of our lists, chaos, or loneliness, there is a timeless message of hope that shines brightly.

The birth of Jesus Christ, Son of God, is the ultimate hope. He brings with Him new beginnings, and He fulfills promises of redemption, renewal, love, joy, and everlasting peace.

The hope of Jesus Christ, spoken about in the Bible, is not a hope of fleeting emotion or of a fleeting Christmas season: it is an anchor for our souls. For by His birth, death, and resurrection, He is our ever-present light and hope. Let the hope, the light of Jesus Christ, be your guide—even in your darkest of nights.

“May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 15:13

Prayer:

Jesus, You are my light, my rock, and my salvation. When I’m in the dark, may the truth of hope in You shine brightly. Let Your hope fill my heart and spill over onto those around me. Be my source and strength of everlasting hope.
