The Gifts of Christmas: Peace

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus this month, we can be reminded of the profound gift of peace He brings. During life’s hustle and bustle, we can easily be left exhausted and worn down, desperate for peace. But as followers of Christ, we have a source of unshakable peace through Jesus Christ.

In the Bible, Jesus is given the title of “Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 says:

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6

With the birth of Jesus, we have unwavering peace.

It’s easy to lose sight of this precious gift of peace we have through Jesus. It’s normal even. But we must remember that peace doesn’t mean we won’t experience challenges or times of trouble. Peace is knowing that God, who is faithful, is walking you through them. As you face the storms of life, reflect on God’s great love and joy, and let them surround you as you surrender your burdens to Him.

Prayer:

Lord, let my heart not be troubled. For by the power of Your Spirit through Jesus Christ, You have come to give me peace. Fill my heart with Your unwavering and transformative peace and, when necessary, remind me that true and lasting peace is found in You alone.
