Maggie shares: “For the first seven years of my life my mom was a single mom who had to work a job to pay the bills, while serving her country in the military for 23 1/2 years, and take care of me all at the same time. And that had to be hard. When I was eight she married my stepdad and right before that my grandmother moved in with us; but that still didn’t change that she still had to work a job, now feed more mouths, and do more laundry. Thankfully she was retired from the military by then and is now a respected veteran.
When I was a child she had to teach me right from wrong, teach me life lessons, wipe away the tears I shed, kiss my scraped up knees, feed me, cloth me, and show me love; and that wasn’t always easy.
And she still shows me that love and tender care to this day.
She is now a pastor, and also a retired veteran, daughter, wife, hard worker, child of God, and best of all my mother.”
