Carissa shares: “Rachel and Jeremy Herron came to offer my newborn daughter and I a safe and welcoming place to live 2 months after I gave birth to my first child, my daughter, Hope, on 12/8/23. I was told I may never have children and then I found out when I was 7 months pregnant that my daughters biological dad that we had been living together for 8 years, and known for 18, had a whole secret life he was living behind my back and bad addictions. That he also wanted nothing to do with my daughter or I. My parents are both retired and in their mid 60s and already had 10 grandkids and were not able to help. So from the moment I found out I was going to be a single mother, Rachel and Jeremy Herron stepped in, and offered their home to my daughter and I in this transition and while I was also back in college for my second career, as my first career had crumbled during COVID. The family has been an incredibly supportive blessing and my daughter is now 17 months exactly, today, 5/8/25! She loves the Herron family and what a blessing for this mom of 3 adult and teenage children herself, to sacrifice her time and Christian devotion to myself daughter and herself. Ironically, her childhood story with her own family growing up was similar, where her own mother took in a single mom of a little girl as well, into their home of already 7 children and Rachel is in her mid 40s and I am turning 40 this July. God has brought Rachel’s moms example FULL CIRCLE, and this has been such a great family experience to give my daughter and I hope for the future! God’s Word never returns void! We listen to KTIS every day and when I finally heard the offer to lift up a mom mentor who has sacrificed for another mom in my situation, I knew this was the moment to share this story. God Bless”
