Kate shares: “Since my sister is 10 years older than me, she was influential to my upbringing. She has two beautiful sons with her husband. Not only was she a wonderful mother to them, she has been working as an RN nurse in the Intensive Care unit for many years. She especially worked tirelessly during the height of Covid in that unit. I have always looked up to her and seen her as a role model, especially since the birth of my 2 beautiful children. She has been there for them in more ways than I can count over the past 7 years. My kids love spending time with her and her husband. They feel very loved and always ask when they are going to be able to see them again. The most important reason I am nominating her is how she has been selflessly spending the majority of her time these days taking care of both her husband and our mother/father. Her husband just recently has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and has had to retire early to go on disability. My mother was recently diagnosed with Frontal Lobe Dementia. She has not only given of her time as a daughter but has been acting as a nurse aid to our mother. She isn’t the type to ever complain or ask for help so I wanted to find a way to tell her how much I love, admire and appreciate her.”
