Brenda shares: “My mom, Jill has always ALWAYS put everyone else first. She will change her plans at the drop of a hat if one of her kids/grandkids needs her. She will also give you her last $5. She will bring you groceries when you are hungry, and make you soup when you are sick. She is now 65 and will be moving in with my sister whose husband left her and their 5 kids a few weeks ago. My sister works full time as a CNA at an old folks home, and is going to school to become a nurse, so she really needs my mom’s help. My mom has worked overnights for the last 11-12 years at an assisted living facility in Stillwater where we were born and raised (as a single mom of 4). She will be leaving her job, and start a part time day job somewhere. This will truly be a blessing for both my mom and my sister. My mom is the one who brought me to Jesus. She was persistent by always inviting me to church, turning me on to KTIS, and buying me my first Third Day cd back when I was 25. She is a wonderful grandma as well, always willing to lend a helping hand, drive them around here and there, sports, parks, and to play with other cousins. Besides Jesus, she is the rock of our family. Most recently taking good care of my brother and nephew who just finished treatment and are in sober living. She makes sure they have what they need and feel loved/supported. She was also there to take care of me and my family when I received my kidney/pancreas transplant back in 2020. There’s nothing she won’t do for her friends/family. The list goes on and on.”
