Molly shares: “My mom, though she had a very tumultuous childhood, filled with trauma, has always chosen to trust God and forgive the people who hurt her or let her down at a very young age. She describes her relationship with God as one that was always there; she always knew Him and trusted Him, even as a young girl living in poverty and amongst dysfunction and abuse. Her childlike faith has influenced all those closest to her; her kids (myself included) even go to her regularly asking for prayer because we believe she has a direct line to God. My mom overcame a lot and has been an amazing mom: caring, loving, warm, and open. She was a great wife as well. My father and my mom worked hard their entire lives to provide for us kids and sacrificed a lot. My father passed away in 2013, and since then, my mom has had to fight for everything she has. She watches YouTube videos on how to fix her washer, dryer, car, etc. She has had to learn how to do so many things on her own. She never wants to ask us kids for help, so we often have to guess at what she needs. Recently, my mom has been struggling with back issues and is struggling a bit financially. She is trying to move closer to me and my brother so we can more readily help her with day-to-day chores, but she is worried about having earnest money for closing when that comes about. I would love to give my mom recognition for her courage, love, and strength. I would love to be able to give her some time for self-care and relaxation. She loves to golf and would benefit greatly from regular massages or some financial help to make her move less stressful. My mom is an amazing woman, and I would love to be able to give her some reprieve from the stress and struggles she has had since my father passed.”
