Tommy shares: What makes my mom so special is that she has always been there for me in any and every situation. Just a couple years ago my mom was put in the hospital for mental health concerns, and this past year as I struggled with my own mental health, I decided to go into Minnesota adult and teen challenge. My mom came to visit me every Saturday, even though I was broken off from my Dad and little sister. My mom consistently visited me, and while doing that, my faith in Jesus grew and I started praying for my family, my mom, my grandma and the brokenness that has consumed our family for decades. My mom has always been the Rock in our family, and even through her own struggles she has made me a stronger man. My relationship with my mom grew into a one that is now centered around our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When my mom would come and visit me, we would have Bible studies in the MNTC gym, and her consistent love for me has transformed my life. I’ve since graduated the program and I now work for a treatment center and I’m engulfed in the community of my church. I believe Jesus sent me my mom to protect me my whole life.
