Mary’s story

I’ve been navigating the challenges of caring for my aging parents recently. On Monday, I had to leave work due to a minor emergency. My mom has been diagnosed with dementia, and my dad is adjusting to helping her with tasks that most of us take for granted. It’s been tough watching them both try to adapt to these changes.

On Tuesday, something unexpected happened. I stopped at McDonald’s (Champlin, MN) for breakfast, and when I got to the window, the cashier told me that the car in front of me had paid for my meal. Then, the gentleman behind the counter shared that the car in front of me was praying for me. I didn’t ask for prayers, but it hit me deeply, and I ended up tearing up the rest of the way to work. It was a beautiful, unexpected moment of kindness, and I truly hope they know that their prayers were felt deeply.
