Brody Athey – Servant of the Shepherd Church

  • Brody serves God every single day by being there for our community members. Our church is a Lutheran Recovery Church, so 80% of our members are recovering alcoholics or addicts. We have 3 sober homes, and have a Bible study or AA meeting every day/evening of the week, plus church service on Sunday. Brody is always willing to help another, and is constantly doing something to help someone else. Brody is a selfless, compassionate, loving, and caring Pastor and anyone you ask in the church or community would agree. Our church saved my life, and continues to bless me in many ways. Brody is an amazing blessing to not only myself, but to everyone who steps foot in our church!
  • Our pastor is truly the hands and feet of Jesus. He pours out the love of Christ and serves the outcasts. Pastor Brody serves as a recovery pastor to addicts and alcoholics. He works around the clock helping homeless addicts and alcoholics find shelter in sober houses, treatments and halfway houses. He humbly ministers the light of Christ to those that are in the dark through his love, words and actions. I see him crying every time someone comes into recovery through Christ and announces the time they have sober. What’s so beautiful is that he’s helped me time and time again. He never gives up on anyone. He welcomes them back with open arms and love. We are truly grateful to the Lord for our pastor and I pray he knows just how truly special he is to us and the community.
