Jesus' tombstone being rolled away. Light is pouring in.

The Tomb

Read John 20

Mary went to the tomb where Jesus was buried only to find that the stone had been rolled away and the tomb was empty. Mary was upset to find Jesus’ body gone. As she began to cry, Jesus appeared to her and said, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” Then, Jesus said her name, “Mary,” and instantly, she recognized her Savior.

Jesus calls us by name and invites us to recognize Him as the Savior who died, was buried, and rose again, just as He did with Mary. Because the tomb is empty and our Savior lives, every person from every tribe, nation, and tongue is invited into a relationship with Him. He offers us an abundant life and eternity with a holy and perfect God through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Hallelujah for the empty tomb!

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for bringing heaven to earth through Your Son, Jesus. You alone are holy and perfect, but You call my name and invite me into Your presence. Help me to know Your voice and to live out Your love here on earth. Amen.
