Read John 19:17–42
Jesus, the perfect Son of God, who had no case against Him and was without blemish or sin, willingly died on the cross. He suffered and was crucified. In His last breath, He proclaimed, “It is finished.” But what was finished?
Through His sacrifice on the cross, Jesus Christ defeated sin and death. Through the giving of His life, He gave us ours.

Lord, thank You for overcoming sin and death so I may have an abundant and eternal life with You.
