Mary

Sarah shares: “My mom, Mary, is one of the strongest, hard working, caring women I know. My mom was born into a broken home; to a single mom. She rarely had her basic needs met. She dreamt of a family one day and knew she wanted better for them. She worked hard to achieve good grades and graduate. She put herself through college. Working tirelessly, 2, sometimes 3 jobs. She even worked overnights so she could be home with us and a run a daycare during the day. She not only provided for my brother and I, but raised us to never live a day of our life without our needs being met. She went on to work in education, where she worked with children with special needs for over 20 years; forever changing their lives too. Her passion for the Lord has never ceased. Her love for her family has never waivered. I have watched her become the most amazing grandma to my children. She is a change maker. She is an overcomer! Recently she fought, head on, breast cancer. She is a survivor. She is a warrior. My mom is my mentor. To say my mom is special is an understatement. She brough herself up from a childhood of poverty and has given her family her all. She has broken the cycle and today my family and I are thriving, because of the sweat, blood, tears, and sacrifices she made. I know I can always rely on her. In a heartbeat she will be there by my side. She has been with me through the every heartbreak and every celebration. She goes out of her way to make sure that those that she loves and cared for. I am so beyond proud of her and honored call her my mom.”
